Space Shuttle Enterprise
The space shuttle Enterprise (OV-101) was a prototype orbiter that paved the way for NASA's space shuttle program. It was used in the Approach and Landing Tests in 1977, which examined the shuttle’s viability to glide and land at a designated location. On April 12, 2011, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) awarded the space shuttle Enterprise to the Intrepid Museum, where it is on display in the Space Shuttle Pavilion.
