DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Personal horizontal image of two crew members standing in the enlisted mess on USS Growler. Both men are smiling at the camera. They are wearing chambray short sleeved shirts and caps. They have light skin and dark beards. The man on the left has a first class rating badge patch on his sleeve. He has a cigar between his teeth. There is a white scalloped border around the image. Sections on the top and bottom of the image are discolored. The back reads "Baker EN1(SS) & O'Day // U.S.S. Growler (SSG-577) // May 12, 1960 // Enroute Pearl Harbor // Hawaii" handwritten in black ink. "47 9M4044 Polaroid" is printed in black ink. The writing is visible in reverse on the front of the image.
