John M. Duthie

John M. Duthie served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) as an ordnance officer during World War II. His exact dates on board are unclear, although documents suggest that he participated in the commissioning ceremony and served on board until around July 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart after receiving an injury to his left cheek in the kamikaze attacks of November 25, 1944. Duthie was a lieutenant at the time he left Intrepid. He remained in the U.S. Navy after the war.
