Edward F. Dolezal

Edward F. Dolezal served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) as a chief photographer's mate, CPHOM. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in New York City in December 1942. He was assigned to USS Core (CVE-13) in June 1943 but was detached in September to join the crew of Intrepid. When Dolezal joined Intrepid's crew on October 1, 1943, his rating was listed as acting appointment--CPHOM (AA). By June 1944, his rating was changed to permanent appointment (PA). Dolezal was detached from Intrepid's crew on June 7, 1945.
