Agustin Ramos

BiographyAgustin Ramos Jr.served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as a boatswain’s mate in the 3B Division from 1964 to 1966. His pay grade was seaman first class (S1). Ramos, from Salinas, Puerto Rico, served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1966. Ramos lived in Puerto Rico until he was twelve or thirteen years old, when his family moved to Rochester, New York. In his oral history interview (OHP.181), Ramos discusses his experiences as a Hispanic or Latino member of the crew.

After his time in the Navy, Ramos briefly became involved in guitar making before becoming involved in social work.
