Mervin L. Beil

Mervin L. Beil served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11). He was a pilot with bomber fighting squadron 10, VBF-10, in 1945. While Intrepid was supporting the occupation of Japan, Beil was forced down over the Chinese city Tsingtao in September 1945. He was uninjured and got picked up by the Marines.
