Ron Wallace served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) from 1968 to 1972. He was a boiler technician second class, BT2, and worked in the B Division. Wallace was the ship’s oil king, the sailor responsible for the storage and transfer of the oil that fueled Intrepid’s boilers. He also participated in the museum's oral history project (OHP.179).
