Rex L. Loftin served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVA-11) during World War II from the ship's commissioning on August 16, 1943 through January 14, 1945. He was a storekeeper third class (SK3). After his Navy service, Loftin became a minister in the United Methodist Church.
