George M. Wise

George M. Wise served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as a pilot with anti-submarine squadron 24 (VS-24). On June 10, 1963, he was flying an S2F Tracker that crashed into the sea and sank. The ship was traveling from Norfolk to Bermuda at the time of the accident. There were four people in the airplane at the time of the crash. Wise, along with two crew members, was never recovered. One other crew member was recovered and survived.
