DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal modern reprint image of six men hanging out in Adak, Alaska, most likely at the Naval Facility. At least one of the men is a crew member of the submarine USS Growler. The man third from the right, Duane Heatwole, has his hands behind his head and is leaning back. The man on the right is an officer in a peaked cap and another officer in a peaked cap is second from the left. The other men are wearing varying types of casual uniforms and clothes. All of the men have light to medium skin. An open sided structure, with items on racks, is on the left. A one-story building with windows is at right. A body of water and a mountain range with snow are in the distance. There is a white border around the top and bottom and the bottom edge is scalloped.
