DescriptionStationery; Concorde British Airways folded stationery holder (a), with one blank flight certificate (b), paper band (c), four blank pieces of paper (d-g), two envelopes (h-i), two blank postcards (j-k) and ballpoint pen (l). The paper stationery holder (a) is a powder blue envelope a slot at the top for storing the pen (l) with the British Airways symbol and “Concorde // British Airways” on the front and “Smythson Of Bond Street,” all printed in silver.
The blank flight certificate (b) is printed on card stock white paper and reads, “Concorde // British Airways // Flight Certificate // Presented To // (blank line) // Who Flew Supersonically On Concorde From // (blank line) // On // (blank line) // Lord Marshall of Knightsbridge // Captain // Smythson Of Bond Street” printed in black ink.
The paper band (c) is powder blue and holds the blank envelopes, post cards, and paper (d-k) together. Printed on the front center are three British Royal Warrant seals which includes, from left to right, the 1964 Royal Warrant from Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Warrant granted by the Prince of Wales, and the Royal Warrant granted by Queen Elizabeth. Below each seal, from left to right, reads “By Appointment // To Her Majesty The Queen // Stationers // Frank Smythson London,” “By Appointment // To H.M. Queen Elizabeth // The Queen Mother // Suppliers of Stationery // and Office Equipment // Frank Smythson London,” and “By Appointment // To His Royal Highness // The Prince of Wales // Suppliers of Stationery // And Office Equipment // Frank Smythson London” printed in black ink. Printed below this is “Smythson // Of Bond Street // Est. 1887” in black ink.
The four blank, white pieces of paper (d-g) are watermarked with an image of Concorde in relief at the top, center.
The two white blank paper envelopes (h-i) are rectangular with Smythson watermarks and “Smythson // Of Bond Street” and an image of the Concorde airplane in relief.
The two blank, white postcards (j-k) are made of cardstock with images of Concorde printed in silver ink in the top right corner.
The pen (l) is made of silver metal with British Airways symbol and “Concorde” and “Smythson of Bond Street” etched onto one end.
