BiographyJames J. Tritten joined the U.S. Navy in 1965. He served on board the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as a pilot with Anti-Submarine Squadron 27 (VS-27) from 1972 to 1973. He was on board the ship during its last two cruises to the North Atlantic and the Mediterranean. His daughter, Kimberly, was baptized on board Intrepid on May 14, 1972. Tritten was a lieutenant during his time on board the ship. He retired from the Navy in 1989 as a commander.
