DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Personal, horizontal image of men hanging out in USS Growler’s forward torpedo room. There are two light-skinned men in dungarees on the right. The man furthest right has a third class rating with “Grunt” handwritten on the sleeve. The man on the right has his arm around a man with a second class rating and “MASTER” handwritten on his sleeve. There is an orange balloon between the two men’s faces. There are two other light-skinned men, one in an undershirt and one in a dungaree shirt, in the background. There are berthing bunks around the men. The bunks on the left are down and there are blue privacy curtains hanging down from the bunks. A small table is extending from the lower bunk on the left. There is a coffee cup on the table. The bunks on the right are folded up. The edges of the photograph are rounded.The man at right in the foreground is David Bishop (donor). The man at left in foreground has been identified as Franklin Clark.
