DescriptionPoster; Vertical color Cold War U.S. Navy recruitment poster titled, “Atomic adventure // Navy”. The image, by Joseph Binder, depicts USS Nautilus (SSN-571), the first nuclear-powered submarine, underway with a red and white atomic atom surrounding it with the head of a sailor holding a telephone below it. He is wearing a white “Dixie cup” hat and a white dress jumper with navy blue piping on collar and cuffs. The bottom reads, “Navpers 35130” and “U.S. Government Printing Office 1956 O-378160”.
