DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal official U.S. Navy photograph of photographer’s mate Gofrido (Ed) Garcia examining a sheet of negatives in the photo lab. Garcia is wearing dungarees and has a watch on his left wrist. He has medium skin, dark hair and a slight mustache. Garcia holds the vertical sheet of negatives with both hands. In front of him, on the right of the image, is a work surface with equipment including a light box. Hanging from the bulkhead in front of him are papers and diagrams, including portraits of sailors and a contact sheet. Behind Garcia there is an open doorway to the compartment beyond and a wooden board with papers on the bulkhead to the left. Through the doorway, equipment with tall extended lights can be seen.
