DescriptionPhotograph, Black and White; Horizontal official U.S. Navy photograph of four crew members posing in primary flight control, or Pri-Fly, on board USS Intrepid. One man with light skin and light hair stands at left apart from the other three men. He is wearing a light colored sweater with “Air Boss” stenciled on the chest and a dark cap with the USS Intrepid seal. Gofrido (Ed) Garcia stands at the front right. He has medium skin, dark hair and a mustache. He is wearing glasses and a dark jacket. Two other men stand to the left of Garcia. One man has light skin, dark hair and a mustache. He is wearing a dark sweater and holds a lit cigarette in his right hand. A black stencil on his chest partially reads “PRI”. The man behind him has light skin, dark hair and a beard. He is wearing a dark coat, with the USS Intrepid seal on the proper left chest, over a dark sweater. The men pose between chairs and windows overlooking the flight deck. There is mechanical equipment, telephones and wiring in the background and hanging from the ceiling.A handwritten inscription on the back of the image has been partially cut off but reads “Photo by (PHAN?) // Carey, USNR”.
