DescriptionPlaque; Wood square-shaped plaque with an oval bronze medallion at the center with a raised aircraft carrier USS Intrepid insignia. USS Intrepid seal reads, “USS Intrepid CVS-11// 'Fighting I'." and the Latin motto "In Mare // In Coelo” (In the sea, in the sky). The seal’s imagery is divided in the center by a six-pointed gold star. The left half of the circle is an image of an aircraft carrier below latitude and longitude lines. The right half is six four-pointed gold stars. The back of the plaque has a bronze figure-eight looped chain for hanging that is secured by two screws. A gold sticker on the lower half of the reverse has pink and black text that reads "Memorial bronze // Division of Jas H. Matthews & Co."On View
