The officers wear khaki shirts. They all have light skin. The officers wear khaki shirts. The table has a white tablecloth, plates, silverware, glasses, salt and pepper shakers, and containers of cigarettes. A toy horse is also on the table. Two stewards or steward's mates stand behind the officers. Both stewards have medium-dark skin and dark hair. There is a map on the wall and a desk in the back corner. There is a white border around the image. This photo also appears in the Paul Lyness scrapbook 2015.62.01, where it is dated September 1944. If that is accurate, the photo may have been taken on board USS Sangamon (CVE-26), which was Sprague's flagship. He had been promoted to rear admiral by this time.
