DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal official Navy image of two Asian stewards, who are likely Filipino, in white button down shirts and trousers presenting. They are presenting Captain Vincent F. Kelley, commanding officer of USS Intrepid, with a cake for his wedding anniversary. They appear to be standing in the captain's stateroom. The steward on the right has a second class rating. Kelley is wearing a khaki uniform and a baseball cap with “Fighting I” on it. Kelley’s bed is in the background on the left and a bookshelf with books is on the right. The rectangular cake reads, “Happy // Anniversary // Capt // Kelley”. There is a white border around the image.

The back of the image is stamped, “Official U.S. Navy photograph // not for publication // unless officially released”. Also on the back in a combination of stamp and handwriting is, “CVS 11 7888 Date 8-14-68 // USS Intrepid (CVS 11) // Subject Capt. V.F. Kelley CO of USS Intrepid being presented with a cake by his two stewards for his 26th wedding anniversary”.
