DescriptionDigitized slide, Color; Personal horizontal image of the Atomium at Expo 58, or the Brussels World's Fair. The structure depicts nine interconnected atoms. There is an aerial gondola ride through the center of the image over a pool. Buildings are on either side of the image. Crowds of people in civilian clothing are walking along pathways on both sides of the pool. The sky is cloudy.The donor has provided the following caption, “Brussels World Fair, August 1958 where we enjoyed many great sights including Benny Goodman and his orchestra with Lionel Hampton……… great music. During this same cruise we also visited the very inspirational Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Portugal”.
