DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of the starboard side of Intrepid taken from a plane off the forward starboard side of the ship. Grumman F9F-8 Cougars and Douglas AD-4 Skyraiders are on the forward section of the flight deck. A North American Aviation AJ-2 Savage is parked just forward of the island, a second is on the aft end of the ship and a third is just visible in the middle of the deck, aft of the island. Calm water is around the ship, and there is a strong wake. There is a white border around the image. The back has “CVA-11 // (L)2462-A” and “Released // If published credit // must be given as follows // “official photograph // U.S. Navy” stamped and written in black ink.On View
