DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image of USS Intrepid's flight deck. The photo was taken from the island looking forward toward the bow of the ship. There are large waves around the ship and the flight deck appears tilted to port. The steam catapult tracks are visible on the flight deck, and the outline of the forward aircraft elevator is visible between them. "11" is painted in white on the bow of the ship.
