DescriptionDiary; Green hardcover log book or diary that includes 162 pages of text handwritten by different people. Text handwritten on the cover reads "Triple // Stix // Log." At the bottom center "7530- 222-3521 // Federal Supply Service // (GPO)" is printed in black.

During the ship’s 1967 deployment to Vietnam, four junior pilots in squadron VA-34—Bernard Fipp, Ben Heald, James VanLiere and Brian Walker—shared bunkroom 0111 in the fo’c’sle of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11). They nicknamed their compartment “Triple Stix.” The four men kept a shared diary from May 11, 1967 through November 23, 1967. The diary is an opinionated account of their service and their squadronmates. The diary begins with Intrepid's transit from Norfolk, Virginia, to the Gulf of Tonkin. Once the ship arrives off the coast of Vietnam, the pilots describe flying on bombing missions over North Vietnam. They note significant events, such as the death or capture of fellow pilots. The pilots also describe antics aboard the ship, including pranks and parties.
