DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Horizontal image of an Air France Concorde on the tarmac at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. There is a stair truck leading up to the plane's door with two men standing in front of the door. It’s notable that regular Concorde service was finally approved for NYC, after a protracted period of protest and political wrangling, in November of 1977. This photo, and P2021.42.02 may have been taken on the same date, or nearly the same date, that service began. The aircraft in the photos represent the original color schemes that both airlines flew during this time, though the exact identification letters cannot be seen. There are several other people standing around the plane, including a man walking off the far side of the plane on a ramp. Other vehicles and yellow traffic cones can be seen around the plane. The sky is cloudy behind the place.Back has "JFK Concorde // Landing // 11/77" handwritten in black ink.
