DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Personal, vertical photograph of a sailor, Hosien Kalell, standing beside a tree in a grassy area. His gaze is turned downwards and he is smiling. He has medium-light skin and dark hair. He is wearing a U.S. Navy enlisted blue dress jumper with a white undershirt visible underneath, trousers, and an enlisted white hat, also known as a Dixie cup. The shadows of three individuals standing behind the camera are visible in the lower foreground. A block of buildings and sidewalk are in the background. There is a white border around the image. “Sine” is handwritten in red ink at the bottom of the border.

Back has “Hosien Kallel” handwritten in black ink. Correct name spelling is Kalell.
