DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Personal vertical photograph of Hosein Kalell posing with USS Intrepid’s World War II scoreboard or scorecard, which is painted on the island at flight deck level. He is standing next to an open watertight door. A medical cross is painted on the bulkhead above his head with an arrow pointing towards the door. There is a “W” painted on the interior of the door. A chart is on the bulkhead at right. It has two columns and “Fighter status” is painted at the top. The man is looking at the camera and is smiling. He has medium-light skin and dark hair. His right arm is outstretched and his right hand is grasping the top of the door. His left hand is in his coat pocket. He is wearing a U.S. Navy enlisted dungaree uniform, coat, and a U.S. Navy enlisted white hat, also known as a Dixie Cup. There is a scalloped white border around the image.The back has the faded “Velo” of Velox and “006” stamped on it. “Hosien Kallel" is handwritten in black ink.
