Marie Campoli

BiographyMarie Campoli, née Field, dated a crew member of the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) in 1972. Her family lived near the U.S. Navy base at Quonset Point, Rhode Island, and would often host sailors. She became friendly with other members of Intrepid's crew. During the 1972 cruise, sailors were asked to submit photos of the women in their lives as part of a contest to choose Miss Intrepid. Campoli’s photo was submitted, and she was chosen as Miss Intrepid 1972. The Museum interviewed her for the oral history collection (OHP.174).
