DescriptionTeacup; Souvenir ceramic tan teacup (a) and saucer (b) from Hakone, Japan. The teacup has a gold gilt rim and handle with a landscape scene of a lake, trees, and a volcano, probably Mount Fuji, painted on its front. The saucer has a gold gilt rim and a painting of two cable cars on the Hakone Ropeway aerial lift over mountains and trees. Underneath is “Hakone // Ōwakudani” written in black Japanese characters. Ōwakudani, or Great Boiling Valley, is a volcanic and hot springs tourist area in the town of Hakone.On View
