DescriptionSuitcase; Brown leather painted suitcase with a purple fabric interior with one pocket and two broken straps. One side has a starboard view of the aircraft carrier Intrepid at sea with “Homeward // bound // U.S.S. Intrepid” above and below it stenciled in yellow and red. The other side has a plane in flight with “Johnny // Latrobe // Penna.” painted in red and yellow. On the left of the plane is a list of locations Intrepid visited including “Pearl Harbor // Eniwetok // Wake // Saipan // Guam // Ulithi // Palau // Philippines // Formosa // Nansei Shoto // Kyushu // Okenawa // Yellow Sea // Japan – Tokyo, Yokosuka, Yokohoma.” painted in red with a small yellow and red Japanese Rising Sun flag under “Yokosuka”. The top has a leather handle, two metal latches with keyholes, and “Johnny // G // Thomas” stenciled in yellow and red.On View
