DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image of USS Intrepid going through the Panama Canal. The photograph was taken from the island looking down at the flight deck. Crew members stand along the port and starboard edges of the flight deck. There are aircraft with wings folded on either side of the flight deck, including two Grumman TBF Avengers. The land on the side of the canal is hilly. There is a white border around the image.Back has "USS Intrepid CV 11 Panama Canal 1943 #1 5" handwritten in black ink.
