DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Personal horizontal image of USS Growler in San Francisco Bay with sailors standing on the bow. The submarine's sail is visible behind the sailors, and the Golden Gate Bridge is in the distance. Some of the sailors are wearing the U.S. Navy enlisted dungaree working uniform, jackets and enlisted white caps, also known as "Dixie cups." Two men are wearing officer's khaki work uniforms, jackets and combination caps. One enlisted sailor is holding a camera and taking a picture. There are three men visible on the top of Growler's sail. They are looking down at the men standing topside. The sky is blue and cloudy. The water around the submarine appears choppy.Donor file name reads "Growler return to Mare 1964."
