DescriptionPlate, Data; Rectangular metal manufacturing data plate from a Japanese A6M Zero Model 21 naval fighter aircraft. The plate has white Japanese characters on a black background, which is affixed to a larger rectangular plate. See below for Japanese translation. The fragment would have been attached to the side body of a Japanese A6M Zero and was salvaged by the crew after the airplane crashed into USS Intrepid.
