DescriptionPlate, Data; Narrow rectangular metal manufacturing data plate from a Japanese A6M Zero Model 21 naval fighter aircraft. The plate has white Japanese characters on a black background and an image of a five-petal cherry blossom flower on the right edge. The ends of the plate taper inward slightly. See below for Japanese translation. The fragment would have been attached to the engine of a Japanese A6M Zero and was salvaged by the crew after the airplane crashed into USS Intrepid.
