DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official vertical image of repairs to the interior of USS Intrepid’s bullnose in the fo'c'sle, or anchor chain room. There are several beams or crossbars at the center of the image, positioned between the deck and the ceiling, just in front of a sloping bulkhead crisscrossed with structural supports. Around the beams, pulleys and chains also connect the deck with the ceiling. There are debris strewn on the deck from the aftermath of storm damage. The crew referred to this storm as a mistral. There is a white border around the image.A horizontal strip of paper is taped to the bottom part of the image with the caption “Shoring of the bullnose done by “R” Division during the storm of 4-5 Nov 61” printed in black ink.
