DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image of the motor control room (C-517-E) on USS Intrepid in dry dock to repair torpedo damage. The top of the compartment has been removed and repair work is in progress. There are large pipes in the bottom of the compartment, and chains hang down from the overhead. 4th deck is marked on the image.

Caption on top right of image reads "Official Photograph // Not to be Released // for Publication // U.S. Naval Drydocks // Hunters Point // San Francisco, Calif." Caption on bottom left of image reads "416-44-S4 CV11 // Motor control room C-517-E, looking down, aft and to // starboard. Top of compartment removed. // Hunters Point 28 March 1944".
