DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Vertical official U.S. Navy image of Admiral Andrew C. McFall presenting an award or decoration to Lieutenant Alexander Vraciu. The men are shaking hands, while Admiral McFall holds three small open boxes in his left hand. It is unclear which award or awards McFall is presenting to Vraciu, although he did receive the Navy Cross around this time. Both men have light skin and dark hair and are wearing officer’s uniforms. McFall's uniform is darker than Vraciu's uniform. There is a framed picture hanging on the wall behind the men as well as a light colored armchair between them. Handwritten inscription on the front of the image reads "To Lt. (Public Relations) Sechriest, // Lt. Alexander Vraciu // 9-16-44".
Caption on reverse "079 9-15-44 // Adm. Andrew C. // McFall Presents // Award To LT. // Alexander Vraciu // P.R.O."
