DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Official horizontal image of sections from the top of the steering gear armor box from USS Intrepid, which was in dry dock to repair torpedo damage. The steel sections are laid on the ground. The pieces of ship are labeled on the image in white marker as to where they came from and what the damage was. There are two men looking down at a piece. One man is bent over working on a piece of steel and the other is watching.
