David M. MacMillan

BiographyDavid M. MacMillan, who was born in New Jersey and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and Winter Park, Florida, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11) as a flight surgeon in Attack Squadron 15 (VA-15) during Intrepid’s first and second Vietnam deployments in 1966 and 1967. While aboard Intrepid, MacMillan tended to the medical needs of the air group and the ship’s company. After his time in the Navy, MacMillan completed his surgical residency at the University of Florida and then entered into private practice. The Museum recorded his oral history interview on November 4, 2021.
