DescriptionDigitized slide, Color; Personal horizontal image looking down from the island on a Grumman F9F-8 Cougar on the port side steam catapult. The plane is from VA-76, number 306, tail code AM. The blast shield behind the plane is raised. There is a F9F-8P photo cougar from VFP-62, tail code GA, pulling onto the starboard catapult. Skills are in the center of the deck. A crew member with a yellow shirt has his arms raised and is standing next to the starboard Cougar. The water off the ship is calm.The donor has provided the following caption, “Cougar ready for launch from the Intrepid”.
