DescriptionFragment; Curved metal tip of a Japanese aircraft propeller with a hole drilled into one side and red paint on one edge. One side has a hand engraving that reads “Prop of // Jap Kamikaze // Entered Amory #4 // USS Intrepid // Sept 25 1944 // unannounced”. There was originally a donor tag (moved to donor file) tied to fragment that reads “Tip of Jap // Kamikazi // propeller that // crashed thru // our armory // under the // flight deck // and exploding // a 500 lb. bomb // on the hanger // deck below. // ‘Intrepid’ // off Philippines // 1944 // 11/25/44” written in red and blue ink.On View
