The Lane W. Peterson papers cover Peterson's time aboard USS Intrepid during World War II. This collection includes Intrepid publications such as the USS Intrepid magazine, and internal documents such as plans of the day and news releases given to sailors. It also includes poems and letters collected by and sent to Peterson, most of them jokes and other stories that have little to do with naval service.
