DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Square image of USS Intrepid's flight deck, looking down toward the bow from the island. A Grumman E-1B Tracer has just launched off the starboard steam catapult. A trail of steam billows from the catapult track. Flight deck personnel in their colored uniforms stand next to the track and in the center of the image. Another Tracer is taxiing in the lower left. Other aircraft are parked on the forward port side of the deck. The exterior of the navigation bridge is visible on the right half of the image. The island's rearview mirror is in the top center of the image. The open water is calm and the sky is gray. The bottom left corner has “Technicolor”. The back of the paper has, “Kodak Paper” across it and is captioned in blue ink, “Flight Deck”.
