DescriptionLighter; Silver lighter with rounded edges and a flip lid with an enameled first USS Growler seal and a submarine warfare insignia. First Growler seal depicted on the body reads “USS Growler // SSG 577” and the Latin motto “Telo utor // peregrinabor” (have missile, will travel). The seal’s imagery depicts the globe and has an enameled blue border, and orange continents. The submarine Growler is positioned in the Atlantic Ocean with a Regulus II missile taking off in the center of the image. The submarine warfare insignia, also called dolphins, on the lid depicts two dolphins flanking a surfaced submarine moving through water enameled in blue. The bottom has "Bradford, PA // Zippo ® // Pat. 2517191" and seven dots that date the lighter to 1959 imprinted on it.On View
