The Albert Watson letters contain two letters written by Albert "Bud" Watson to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Watson. They detail Watson's experience just after he boarded USS Intrepid in 1945. Watson was killed as a result of the April 16, 1945 kamikaze attack.

Letter and envelope; January 11, 1945. Envelope addressed to "Mr & Mrs AJ Watson // 90 Nyack Ave // Landsdowne PA" with a return address of "Albert Watson AMM1/c // USS Intrepid Div. V6 // c/o FPO San Fran. Calif."
- Watson describes first boarding Intrepid. He talks about getting used to living on board and how much he is enjoying the food on Intrepid. He mentions that he found someone on board that he knew from Quonset Point and talks of other people he hopes to see.

- Watson opens the letter by complaining that three of his letters were previously rejected by the censor. Watson then describes the work being done on Intrepid in dry dock, and details that he is in charge of men chipping paint, but that they are not doing a lot, and that seems to be okay with the officer in charge. He continues to praises the food aboard Intrepid and describes the whereabouts and future of his friend, Jax [sp?]. He closes by mentioning that he met a friend in port recently.
