DescriptionPhotograph, Color; Personal square image of a Kaman UH-2B Sea Sprite lifting off from Intrepid's flight deck. The image is taken from the island and there is a crewmember in a working dungaree uniform watching flight operations from a lower level. There is an American flag flying from the island. There are several other aircraft parked on the flight deck which include Douglas A-4 Skyhawks and Vought F-8 Crusaders. Identifications on the parked aircraft include "AK // 8529 // Navy," "16," (VF-111 Det.11) and "403" (VFP-63 Det.11). The sea around the ship is calm and the sky is hazy. There is a white border around the image.Donor note reads "Medical Department // U.S.S. Intrepid CVS-11 // Huey lifting off" in black and blue ink.
