DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal photograph that shows an SB2C Helldiver being hoisted up to the flight deck by USS Intrepid's port side crane. There is a man on the flight deck looking down at the aircraft. Several men on the port side gallery deck level are holding ropes attached to the aircraft to steady it. The sea is calm in the background, and the sky appears to be cloudy.Caption on reverse "80-G-291014 12 Nov 1944 at Ulithi // Lagoon we take aboard new aircraft." In right hand reverse corner is hand written note, "12 Nov. // At Ulithi we hoist // aboard a new SB2C Plane". In right hand reverse corner is stamped "Credit National Archives" underneath handwritten is "80-G-291014"
