DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of sailors lined up for inspection on the flight deck of USS Intrepid (CVA-11) prior to departure for a Mediterranean cruise. A group of officers at left walks down a row of sailors, who stand at attention. The lead officer in the group is a captain. A commander and a warrant officer are part of the group. The officers are wearing dress blue uniform and white hats. The sailors are wearing dress blue uniforms and white "Dixie cup" hats. One sailor has dark skin. The other sailors and the officers have light skin. Caption on FIC housing "On-deck inspection by Admiral // 1957." A handwritten notation on the back says "5/57".
