DescriptionCartoon; Vertical black and white print of cartoon or comic drawn by Edward Ritter. The image depicts Ritter sitting in a chair at the back of the ready room. He is drawing the room in front of him. There is a map on the cabinet to the left of him. Eight other men are in various poses around the ready room. All of the men have light skin and dark hair. Two men sit in ready room chairs on either side of the aisle directly in front of Ritter. The man on the right is being addressed by an officer standing in the aisle. This character, named Snipo, appears in other cartoons by Ritter. In the front row on the left, two men play a game, possibly checkers. At the front of the room, there is a doorway in the left corner. One man stands in the doorway holding a phone to his ear. Another man leans through the open doorway behind him to the left. In the right front corner of the room, there is a board with writing that is indecipherable. A man leans toward an equipment box on the wall. He is turning a dial with his right hand. Various garments hang from hooks on the walls, and helmets hang from the ceiling. A handwritten inscription on the bottom right corner of the artwork reads “Ritter // Oct 1944”.On View
