- The Donald Domenic DiMarzo Correspondence consists of 10 letters, a check / love letter, and a card. DiMarzo’s letters frequently discuss the censors, and contain mentions of food, entertainment, morale and superior officers. They also respond to his wife’s news from home and discuss family finances. Highlights include: the November 2 letter discussing war reporting, the reliability of news, and journalists on board; references to DiMarzo’s ship’s newspaper column in letters from August 7, August 27, and November 4; the November 4 letter discussing the possibility of DiMarzo’s death; and the November 24 letter about Thanksgiving, written the day before DiMarzo’s death. An undated card titled "Missin' You" features cartoon illustrations of a dog.
