DescriptionPhotograph, Black and white; Horizontal image of a Douglas AD-6 Skyraider engulfed in flames after a fuel tank broke loose from the airplane while landing. Black smoke rises from the flames. The plane, from Attack Squadron 25 (VA-25), is numbered “4606 // 411”. A pilot is emerging out of the cockpit, and a crew member in a fire suit is on the plane aiding him. Crew members are running from the left side of the image with a fire hose. Other crew members are at the bottom the image, running to help. There is calm, open water around the ship.On View
